In short, <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Personal_protective_equipment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PPE is any assortment<\/a> of \u201cprotective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments designed to protect the wearer\u2019s body from injury or infection.\u201d This equipment comes in four different types that have various levels of bio-security defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Level D:<\/strong><br>This is the lowest level of personal protective equipment and is mostly<br>considered as \u201cnuisance contamination\u201d coverage. It\u2019s likely used as everyday<br>work attire for farmers, veterinarians, and other professions and only requires<br>coveralls and safety shoes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Level C: <\/strong>When<br>there are airborne substances that are known or measured, but that you are<br>unlikely to be exposed to, this next level of coverage is required. A full or<br>half face mask with an air-purifying respirator, chemical resistant clothing,<br>gloves (inner and outer), and boots are all requirements of this PPE. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Level B:<\/strong><br>Level B contains the highest level of respiratory protection, but has less eye<br>and skin security. This level is the minimum requirement for unknown site<br>entries. It also has the same specifications as Level C, but with a<br>positive-pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Level A: <\/strong>When<br>you need the highest level of security for respiratory, skin, eye, and mucous<br>coverage, this is the level used. The attire for this level is the same<br>respiratory spec as Level B but needs a fully encapsulated chemical protective<br>suit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re dealing with large animals in any capacity, you\u2019re likely not going to need any of the higher levels of PPE security. You\u2019ll probably just need coverage so that your clothing isn\u2019t ruined! So what can you wear that meets Level D PPE requirements?
